GoToMyPC

GoToMyPC ConceptTask: Create a design and marketing concept site to pose the question “What if Apple made GoToMyPC?”

GoToMyPC is Citrix Online’s remote access offering. While it’s often touted as “PCAnywhere for your grandmother,” and quite deservingly from a software usability standpoint, its website marketing approach and pricing structure are vague and obtuse.

This design experiment was something I made as part of an internal contest while at Citrix Online. Apple is often seen as a company who eliminates barriers to entry, so I felt they were a worthy model. While my experiment had its supporters, ultimately the redesign of the GoToMyPC site was farmed out to another department entirely, and many of the ills I sought to address with my concept persist to this day (see the results here.)
